Trail of Tears

By: Kevin

There was once a disappointing point in time

In this point Cherokees lives weren’t worth a dime,

Cherokees were not even thought of

The only one who cared was the good man above.

This time was so sad

That family is all that they had,

They all had to stick together.

Even at bad times or horrible weather.

It all started with a stupid law

Thousands of lives taken away with just one call,

How can something so bad

Make U.S. troops so glad.

The evil troops started in

Getting ready to let off plentiful sins,

Staring in the eyes of the innocent ones

Not knowing that one pull of the trigger could hurt tons.

The Cherokees were being forced out

Having no clue what about,

They all started to gather and hide

Having to stay together side by side.

Indians started to move off and on

 Walking from dusk till dawn,

Following a heard on an 800-mile walk

Having a certain time that they could talk.

It got late and they got cold

Doing everything that they were told,

Watching the troops let off a million sins

Not noticing that that was their end!

Cooking

I loved to have to cook

It doesn’t matter how much time it took,

I love to hear the sizzle of the steak

But not as much as the baking of the cake.

Cooking is from sweets to sours

The food is better if it took hours,

I had just made something sweet

Now it is time to eat
