Personality Test Finding the right career is very important to exceed in someone's life. Many factors, such as ability, personality and preference are used to determine what types of careers someone would do best in. Finding the right career that fits a person's personality is important because a person will not do well in their occupation if they are not content and motivated. To find the right career for a person, they must have a better understanding of their personality. Similarminds.com provides quizzes to determine someone's personality type. The test I took was the Myers Briggs test the Jung type my test result was estj, which is a guardian. Guardians have a natural talent for managing goods and services, from supervision to maintenance and supply and they use all of their skills to keep things running in their families, communities, schools, churches, hospitals and businesses (Advisor team). In other words, guardians are naturally good at a manager position that supervises services. All of the traits of an estj that I have are being group oriented, focused, emotionally stable, planner, realistic, decisive, norm following, punctual, self confident, social confident, doesn't like being alone, regular and content. These all apply to me in many ways. Fore example, things that make me realistic are that I never think try to do something that seems impossible or unrealistic. I am a planner because I have my future pretty much decided. I am punctual and I almost always know when things are due in school. I to another online test on similarminds.com that described the jobs my personality type is the best in. It showed I would do best in careers involving business. The handout from similarminds.com also had a list that told me what careers I would not like. I generally agreed with it, except record storeowner; I don’t see how I would dislike it very much. I took an interest test that determined which career pathways I would like best called Pathways to the World of Careers. The test had several questions that you either marked or left blank. At the end I added up all of the boxes marked. The top three results that I got were business, arts, media and entertainment, and health careers. Some questions that I answered to get business were: I feel conformable selling my ideas to other people, I achieve my goals by bargaining or making deals, and I am very concerned with money and profit. The career type I scored first corresponded with my personality type. I scored second in arts, media and entertainment. Some questions that I answered to get this category were I am good at noticing differences in shapes color and sound, and I work well alone. I somewhat understand how I got health careers because I used to want to be a surgeon. Some questions I answered to score health careers were I put personal feelings a side when dealing with a crisis, and I exploring all possible reasons for something (Pathways to the World of Careers). I took a personality test on a website that categorized me into one of four groups. I got supervisor Guardian. Supervisor guardians always follow rules attempt to make others do the same. They never have their heads in the clouds and are in touch with reality. They do not wait to make others follow the rules. Guardians are sometimes surprised when the people that they set straight don’t seem at all pleased (Keirsey). Supervisors make up ten percent of the population. They are naturally good at supervising projects, businesses, and other work. Supervisors believe more in experience, rather than philosophies and fantasy. They make sure people under their supervision keep their feet on the ground (Keirsey). Supervisors try to help their communities and belong to a variety of groups, and strongly support them. The also believe society is falling apart and try to extend their efforts to help. Supervisors do not like it when people try to change thing completely or abandon them. They have a hard time understanding people like that (Keirsey). Finding the right career is important. If a person doesn't like their position, they would not do well at it because of lack of motivation. Finding the right career will make it easier for a person to excel in their career and even like it. In conclusion, I think I would do best in a business management career.
