Kelsie’s Poems

An Ode to my

Long

Lost Homework

A Poem By: Kelsie

Oh homework you left me

Oh where did you go?

If you had not run away

Of course, I can not say

But If  I had your presence with me there that day

I am almost certain I would have gotten an A

I did it

Of course

I worked all night

By the small glow of candle light

It was really well done, I really tried

My homework just seemed to want to go and hide

“Excuses, Excuses”

 exclaimed Miss Murray

Writing me an accountability check in a hurry

I tried to tell her

Tried to let her know

She did not listen, she just said she needed a big cup of hot co - co

Homework, I miss you ever so dearly

And my grade really shows it, for it suffered severely

I don’t know where you went

I must have lost you just nearly

Because when I got home that day

My homework was perfect, untouched, as it lay on the counter

Red Curtains

A Poem By:

Kelsie

Hear the singing

Dash of dance

Smell the dust on the old theatre house seats

Rehearsal

In a rustle

The curtains open

You are revealed from behind the soft red velvet

Opening night
